By Alix Montoya

So you're considering a new theme for your living room but couldn't think of something revolutionary enough to impress your friends whose floors are as glamorous as the White House's. The interior designer you hired for the job seemed to be giving ideas too far out for you to even consider. He's suggesting you stick with concrete. Obviously you think he's out of his mind. But you know, your interior designer might be on to something.

Concrete might seem too drab, too boring, too gray for anybody's taste. Well let me tell you something, it doesn't have to be. This old material has been through a lot and just like a veteran, its glory never gets out-shined. There are many people who are putting a new spin to old concrete. You are definitely going to be impressed with the new techniques contractors everywhere are using that makes sure that concrete will never be the same again.

Polished concrete is literally becoming more and more popular as the best flooring material there is in the market. Advances in technology and the ingenious methods used by different contractors are transforming this drab old material into the non-coated glossy and no-wax flooring material that's sure to impress millions all over.

The ideas doesn't end there, folks. If the floor you're planning to polish is too bumpy and uneven to begin with, you are going to want to apply a fresh coat of cement to flatten it out first. And while you're at it, why not add some color to it by combining some pigments on the fresh cement mixture. Then you can add color to the otherwise gray material and call your friends so they can admire your creativity.

If you're still having doubts about polished concrete, you can try to research some more about it. There are plenty of available resources on the Internet. You might think that it's too cold or it's too damp. Well, there are also many ways to get around these things like installing radiated heating cables within the concrete to keep the temperature up during winter.

This tired old material has just proven that it's still not ready to give up the fight against all the modern ways of decorating your home. So give this hardy competitor a try and impress your friends with your new found floor. - 16752
