Leather Motorcycle Jackets are Stylish

By Frank Medley

When you think of a motorcycle rider, you probably imagine someone wearing a leather motorcycle jacket. However, many of these jackets aren't comfortable. Are there safe, comfortable, and stylish jackets out there?

As you're preparing to buy your leather motorcycle jacket, you might wonder what features it need to have to keep you safe? It should be a millimeter thick or more, in order to protect you in an accident.

A drawback to leather motorcycle jackets is their lack of protective armor. There are some that do feature it however. You should look for semi rigid armor that doesn't shift when you move, in the back and chest.

If you are worried about your leather staying intact in the rain, there are now some jackets available that are waterproof. These jackets are only being produced by a few manufacturers at this point.

There is also some discussion as to what size of leather motorcycle jacket is the best. The waist length jacket is the most traditional. It doesn't offer as many features or coverage, but it is stylish.

A three quarter length jacket is better if you have somewhat of a gut, and a lot of us do. These jackets don't have the classic style, but they do have many more storage pockets and better coverage for longer rides.

A black leather motorcycle jacket may be traditional, but you can find one in any color out there. There are also jackets that have team colors and logos so that you can show your pride.

A leather motorcycle jacket may be a traditional piece of riding gear, but modern motorcycle jackets are anything but. There are many different styles and options to fit any rider. - 16752
